The modular acoustic panel is a “3-in-1” design solution: a luxury look, perfect acoustics and a health guarantee for your family, removing echo and turning plain walls into focal points.
The panel is made of 27 mm wide, 12 mm high MDF slats, 17.7 mm apart (9 slats/panel), on 8 mm acoustic PET felt; 20 mm thick in total.
Felt with a density of 1200–1300 g/m² is what turns a slat panel into an acoustic product: it absorbs sound and reduces echo and reverberation. The product is certified as an acoustic product.
High density and constant thickness, from recycled PET – real acoustic effect and sustainability.
Zero Toxine certification – no chemical smell, safe for children’s rooms too.
Dust does not cling to the slats or felt, so walls stay clean for longer.
Surface treatment resistant to scratches and daily wear.
Soft-brush vacuum or a slightly damp cloth – no special products.
Continuous pre-impregnated foil on visible faces; staples + hot-melt adhesive for strength.
At first glance they look the same. The difference shows in felt density, emissions, surface durability and after a few months of use.
| Criterion | LDA – made in Europe (EU) | Low-cost import (China / Turkey) |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Made in Europe (EU) | Low-cost import; origin and batch hard to verify |
| Formaldehyde & VOC emissions | Zero – Zero Toxine certification; class A+ / Indoor Air Quality Gold emissions | Often undeclared or without verifiable certificates; risk of high emissions, which can lead to health problems over time |
| Smell & PET quality | Felt from 100% recycled PET fibres, no chemical smell, hypoallergenic | Felt from mixed recycled waste, strong persistent adhesive/solvent smell, which can lead to health problems over time |
| Felt – density | 1200–1300 g/m² → real acoustic effect | Frequently below 1000 g/m² → weak acoustic effect, more like a carpet |
| Felt – thickness & quality | 8 mm, uniform along the full length; elastic, does not crack when fitting | Often thinner, uneven; brittle or soft, may come apart |
| Slat and backing thickness | MDF slats 12×27 mm, 8 mm felt backing – a 20 mm thick, rigid panel with a premium look | Slats and backing are often much thinner → cheap look, lower rigidity and sound insulation |
| MDF slats & provenance | MDF 12×27 mm, continuous pre-impregnated foil on visible faces; FSC/PEFC certified wood; the slats get an extra production step – the 90° edge is removed by a small rounding of the edges to avoid foil problems | Weaker edges and foil, risk of peeling; wood from unknown sources |
| Scratch resistance | Anti-scratch treatment on the slats | Scratches and marks easily |
| Antistatic & cleaning | Antistatic treatment – dust does not cling; easy cleaning with vacuum or cloth | Attract dust, harder to clean |
| Assembly & fixing | Staples; the felt thickness also allows fixing with screws straight through the felt | Adhesive only – slats can detach; the felt can tear when screws are tightened |
| Tolerance & colour | ± 1.5%; consistent colour between batches, even after years – customers who want to order more get the same colour | Dimensional and colour variation between batches |
| Acoustic certification & CE | Certified acoustic product; CE marking and declaration of performance. All sub-assemblies are made in the European Union | Usually without acoustic certification or genuine CE marking |
| Availability & B2B support | Production in the EU, fast delivery, sole importer with local support and a clear guarantee | Long lead times, no local support or covered warranty |
